A Day for THE Mother

I didn't know how exactly I would dedicate a post to the awesome person who is my mother. I mean, I could list off all of her wonderful mothering techniques, talk about special moments that we have had or share a funny experience or two- but I've decided not to do that. I'm not out to prove how my mom is so amazing. She just is.
Anyways, mom really loves the Tulip fields that are up in Northern Washington and she really likes the beach, so for mother's day we loaded up the RV and took her to both places.

Side note: ISN'T THIS ADORABLE?!?!

Not only was it a very PERFECT Washington weather day, mom thoroughly enjoyed herself and I got to become reacquainted with my deep abiding love for the natural beauty my state houses. You all should come visit someday.

a day in the life

I don't remember ever having my days so full of barbies, kittens, pink, princesses, bunnies, butterfly's, sparkles, pull-ups, naps, blankies, car seats, buckles and small socks in my life!

I really love these girls though :)

So other than nannying I've done hardly anything. My movie collection is growing (as in it actually exists now. gotta love Wal-Mart/Target $5 DVD's!) I'm living out of my suitcase still due to some room re-adjustments. That's not too bad though. I've been applying for jobs (Banana Republic, Gap... thinking about Target). Skyping Mr. Incredible a ton, much to my sister's annoyance. I'm actually flying back down to Provo at the end of the month! I'm spending Memorial weekend there! SO EXCITED.
And THAT is the update for the 2nd week of summer. It's been rockin'. ROCKIN' I tell you.

this was just too rich

So I finally went running in Washington. It was mahvelous! I actually went with mom and dad (they're training for their Ragnar Relay in July) and afterwards we were stretching in the front room. Dad had turned off the lights and was playing relaxing "zen" music while we stretched.

Alyssa walked in and said: "Wow, all we need are some candles and some incense burning!"
Mom says: "Ummm, if you burn incense in this house you will be kicked out. I HATE the smell of incense!"
Me (being smart.... trying to be smart) says: "Mom, you like potpourri but not incense, how does THAT work out?"
Mom: "Incense smells like flowery marijuana Jess".
Me: "OH"
Alyssa: "So.... the wise men gave the baby Jesus marijuana at Christmas?!"
Me: "Lysa... that was FRANKINCENSE, not incense"

Like I said.... this was just too rich to go un-posted :)
